At the 41st International Dixieland Festival from May 17th until May 22nd, 2011 38 bands and soloists from 11 countries will perform among which a formation from Israel "The Isradixie Band" (photo) will make their debut.

A great number are young bands and more than a quarter of all will perform at the Dresdner IDF for the first time. Especially one application by a band named "Heart of England Jazz Band" from England had to wait for 10 years in order to perform in Dresden.

The 14 main events with several improvements will take place at 33 performance locations. On May 15, 2011 the traditional opening will be the Dixieland Family Party by the Sächsische Zeitung (Saxon Newspaper) in the Zoo of Dresden.

The booking for tickets for the 41st International Dixieland Festival Dresden begins on October 4, 2010.
